This is just out from AOPA regarding the issue - it IS a for-real problem.

We did an interview with KTSA on Monday during the Jack Riccardi show here in San Antonio. Here's most of it (sorry for the recording quality).

I whole-heartedly agree with the editorial. I believe that the current culture has engrossed itself with a "Root Cause Analysis" mentality whereas every incident/accident must have a corresponding remedy or means of prevention. We have gotten to the point where people believe the lowest common denominator must be addressed. I grow weary of all this big brother approach to thought control. Ryan Short got it right with his reply.

On a personal note, I believe that the real issues in this case go much deeper into the heart of what defines good and evil, and standards of law and morality. Some folks are trying to make this a right vs. left issue, or proof that the "Tea Party" movement is somehow responsible. At it's heart, I believe that this particular incident, in context, shows that ultimately, the best laws, short of absolute tyranny, cannot prevent a person from showing the depravity in their heart. The Bible says that all men have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God. All men have the capacity, if not the capability of committing horrific crimes as Mr. Stack did. Ultimately, it is the restraining influence of God's law, revealed in part through all Creation and written in part upon men's hearts and consciences, that prevents more men from doing things like this. The ultimate solution to these problems is for people's hearts and minds to be changed by the Word of God revealed in Scripture.

I am not optimistic that private, individual, small-plane general aviation is going to survive long into the twenty-first century.

We are being regulated, and priced, out of the air. Events such as this will only lead to more pressure to ground all small planes.

Few are the voices raised for our survival.

How many people do you suppose have read this well thought out editorial? I only found it by following a link from a forum on AOPA - after having searched the AOPA site itself in vain for a statement from the organization about this event (now a week ago) in Austin.

When even our premier GA organization does not bother to address what is obviously the main general aviation issue of the day - there is little hope.

Thank you for writing this.

With reference to the listing of "STINSON FIELD TENANTS"......
I believe that Robinson Aviation (RVA) should be included.

"None in a Million"
